Summer '09

Hope It's been a good one for all of you!

The shop is going through a transformation right now. The decision regarding body piercing was a tough one. I have pierced thousands of you over the years, and it simply became impossible to fit it into my schedule. Running the shop and tattooing had to take top billing. I promise to make myself more available to those of you who seek my tattoo services.

Our main goal right now is to be able to accommodate walk ins. We should be able to get you in with an artist within a week if not same day. Just call or come in! This is with the exception of Tom Berg who is still booked out. He has, however, been working super hard to get his clients in sooner and to great success(somethings are just worth waiting for!)

Alfredo has been working steadily and is very versatile. His pieces flow with bright solid color and he does black and gray as well.

Kevin is usually booked a few weeks out but can sometimes take a walk in. Check him out! He has such a knack for nostalgia. He does color and black and gray as well.

Terry Brown is our newest addition hailing from Texas/New Orleans. He was working in a very busy French Quarter shop and can handle the walk ins!

We will be closed July 27-July 30. we will have new flooring put in during this time. While that happens the shop will be in Palm Springs for our yearly get away. When we return on Friday our newest addition Luis Arias will be setting up his station. He does awesome work!!

Thank you for all your patience. We truly hope to see you soon. There are so many great artists out there and you have lots of choices. But...when you want a new tattoo the think of us at So. Cal Tattoo!

2009

Another summer is approaching, and we are gearing up for a busy one.

The big news right now is that Carlos Torres has decided to leave the shop. We wish him well. You can contact him via Myspace or give our shop a call and we also have a contact number for Carlos.

We will have a new artist joining us in July by the name of Luis Arias. He does very nice work and is super friendly.

Tom, Kevin, Alfredo and I are doing our best to take care of whatever comes our way. We appreciate all of our customers and want to make sure you feel the love!!

Things are pretty much as usual around here. We have been blessed to still be able to do what makes us happy, tattoo, in this economy. We hope you all know how much we appreciate your business!

Tom Berg is doing well and is still booked up for about a year. He is in great need of some time off, but that's another story. He just can't go one week without being with his customers. LOL.

Carlos Torres is a busy man as well. He has been painting a lot and will travel a bit this year. Call and book your consult soon, if you want to get work done before you're old!

Alfredo Alvear is doing well after an accident that scared the crap outta me. He is fine however, and is booking up. He volunteers his time every year with a robotics gig at Culver City High School. The students love him. Go figure. I'll just like calling him a geek for the next month.

Which brings me to the "Cheese", our very own Kevin Nocerino. It seems that Kevin has bought a motorcycle. It's obvious that I'm less than thrilled, but he's a responsible guy and he'll be fine. He is now doing portraits as well as excelling in any style his clients may want. Catch him while you can.

We were sorry to see Mr. Carlos Rojas move on, but we do wish him well!
,br> On to Phaedra. She is going to be having a baby girl, "Toni Lynn", in February. We are all real excited for her. She's still working and thinks she is only gonna be off for one week. I will humor her, but I really want her to take some time just to cuddle. Time flies, ya know?

We have a new addition to the shop with Ms.Becca. She will be handling some of Phaedra's hours. She has been here for about five months and can handle all the boys teasing her (job requirement here). She'll be fine.

Carmen has been my assistant, fill in girl, for about 2 years now, and with my crazy life, much needed. She countinues going to school and probably won't want to hang out with us dumb***** for much longer. LOL.

Markie comes in and cleans once a week as well as Christian. If you see dust in here...Well, you know who to blame.(Then tell me.)

Last year was a year of lots of trial. I am sure I learned a lot from it but glad for it to be over!

I took care of the surgery I put off for a year and missed over a month of work, but I feel so much better.

On a happy note my beautiful, smart, funny granddaughter, Rozy, came to stay with me and makes me smile with purpose daily.

After not being at the shop for six weeks, I was thrilled to be back here. The useless trivia, sports, replayed movies, and banter was missed. We look forward to seeing you this year.

What's Happening at So Cal Tattoo

Finally a chance to write some, "NEWS". So. Cal. Tattoo & Body Piercing will celebrate 13 years in September. "Lucky 13"

Everyone here is really busy. Tom & Carlos are booked until November, but are taking art consultation appointments. As for myself, I'm booked until July and am also taking art consultation appointments. Alfredo who I hired as our "walk-in" guy is booking up weekly, but is somtimes available for walk-ins.

Juliette is still piercing and is available every day except Wednesdays and Sundays. Phaedra is still the person to go through on the phone.

I sat down to think about how long every one has been here and thought how time flies. Tom has been here 11 1/2 years, Phaedra 10 years, Carlos 7 years, Juliette 4 years, and Alfredo 8 months. I want to thank all of my co-workers for all their loyalty and love for the shop. They are what makes this shop great. I alone could never do it all.

I would also like to thank all of our customers and friends for all of their support over the past 2 years. If you happened upon a bad time here, my apologies. Things are much smoother and morale is up.

Next month, we will all be at The Queen Mary convention, June 23rd, 24th, & 25th. Look for our booth. We would love to see all of you there.

The latest news from So Cal Tattoo. 11.05

After a 25 year relationship, 20 of those married and 12 years working together, Ethan and I are parting ways. I'll let you know the details on Ethan as soon as I get them.

My name is Terri Morgan. I'll be writing this page from now on. I'll try to keep you up to date on all things new and exciting happening here.

Tom Berg is busy as ever. Not just tattooing and painting, but also drawing for the Fox hit show, "Prison Break." He has also been working on X Men 3 and The Reaping.

Carlos Torres is tattooing so much that he is often here on his day off. Of course, he just bought a new townhouse that he asked me to help decorate. He can use the extra $$ (not that I have expensive taste).

On to our Chief Executive to the President, Phaedra, she's just returned from Hawaii and that "hang loose" mentality has put her in an especially good mood. So book those appointments now! Thing just wouldn't run as smooth without her.

Juliette has pretty much become the shop piercer as I'm booked for tattooing. She is doing a great job and has a happy clientele. I'm still available by appointment however, and specializing in genital piercings.

If you call and its not Phaedra or Juliette, that would mean you have reached our lovely girl, Sarah. Say Hi!!!

Last but not least, we've hired a new artist, Alfredo Alvear. He is doing some clean work and is, for now, sometimes available for walk-ins. We'll get some of his pictures up soon. His portfolio is available at our shop.

Thing are running smooth through the transition and while we all sense a loss, we are still family.

Tom Berg art in hit Fox TV series.

Fox Television has a new hit series on its hands. Titled "Prison Break" the show has a key developmental element that was created by So Cal's own Tom Berg. Tom's tattoo art in "Prison Break" is an important part of the story line. Tom created artwork for the show's director, Brett Ratner, in an earlier motion picture titled "Red Dragon". We're happy that the show is doing well and we proud that Tom has had this opportunity to once again display his outstanding talent for art and tattoo art specifically. We're looking forward to seeing the December 2005 issue of Tattoo Magazine. This issue will have a feature article on Terri Morgan of So Cal Tattoo. But being in the spotlight and giving some readers a first chance to learn a little something about the shop and what we do here is always an occasion for excitement. Top Honors at Long Beach

Congratulations are in order for resident So Cal Tattoo Artist Carlos Torres. Carlos was awarded "Best Black and Grey" at this year's, (2005), Long Beach Tattoo Convention. We've always known about the quality of Carlos' tattooing skills and this award shows that others appreciate his work as much as we do at So Cal Tattoo. Congratulations Carlos.
